Alex Walz has released a very special treat for Halloween, a number of spooky screenshots made with the Dawn of Fantasy editor. The detail and ease with which these pictures were made really shows off the power of the editor. Go here to see all of the screenshots!

Epic shots, I can not wait to have a go at this. I will try and make a shot ten time better then Brighty's AoM ones.(That's hard, but definitely possible with this).

Nice work with your shots Alex(if he has time to read these comments). Is it easy to make custom lighting?

Thank you.

Short answer, yes.

Long answer:

You can very easily alter just about any aspect of the lighting within a window of the editor.

You just add in numeric values and you can alter the RGB/color value of the sun, its angle and pitch in relation to your map, and the intensity of the shadows. You can adjust the overall ambient color scheme, adjust the brightness, set the time of day, set the skybox, stretch the skybox's density, placement, and intensity, and set the color and amount of night stars. All done without any scripting.

The final screenshot took a little more work to get both the warm and cool hues. I set the sun with a reddish hue and place aura effects around the altar to create the teal hue. Although I left the effect at its original hue, each effect object has just as many editable properties as the sky.

This is all done within the editor. If you're talking about setting lighting and recalling it through scripting for a custom day-and-night cycle, you'd have all the same options and just have to plug them into your line of script. I don't have enough experience with Lua to elaborate but I'm sure there will be plenty of tutorials and help out there.
